For achieving a modern, functional, environmentally-friendly and highly attractive design for an otherwise utilitarian vessel with an abundance of innovative solutions, including hullform, propulsion concept, speed of loading and sea speed.
Outstanding Ferry Exterior
PASCAL PAOLI
For exceptional exterior styling of a ro-pax vessel identifying with her own moderately high speed and an overall expression of modern hi-speed ship design in the ferry-transport industry
Outstanding Ferry Exterior
STENA BRITANNICA
She wins passenger acclaim for her full-height deck-to-ceiling panoramic front windows, proving that the view is important also aboard a ship whose main commercial focus is freight. Considerable input has been made to soften the otherwise sharp exterior appearance of the ro-pax generation with rounded railings.

For full width access at the stern with rational and space saving fixed ramps to the weatherdeck.
Outstanding Ferry Concept
VOLCAN DE TINDAYA

CRUISE
Outstanding Cruise Concept
QUEEN MARY 2
For the development of modern ocean-liner-themed product for both express line service and up-scale world cruising, retaining many traditional and legendary liner features such as an axial layout, 4.5 metre heights for public spaces, a conservatory, etc, though rendered in an entirely contemporary fashion to support a commercially viable modern cruise lifestyle experience.
Outstanding Cruise Lounges
QUEEN MARY 2
For the Illuminations Theatre, created as the world's first-ever shipboard planetarium, with a retractable hemispheric projection dome, the capability to also show other special virtual reality and iMax-type productions, whose versatility extends equally to its alternative uses as a full-production cinema, broadcasting studio, recital and lecture hall. Albeit added as a 'pursuit of wow' feature, Illuminations adds real value to the onboard experience.
Outstanding Cruise Sundecks
TU MOANA
For the well-articulated and effective layout of decks aboard a smaller cruise ship, arranged in a sequence of open spaces ascending from the sport platform just above sea level aft to a spacious and largely unobstructed sun deck atop the superstructure.
Outstanding Cruise Exterior
CRYSTAL SERENITY
For the location of lifeboats and all other safety equipment below the main promenade, rather than above it, achieving the unique feature of a totally clear and unobstructed promenade completely surrounding the superstructure for passenger enjoyment, as well as achieving a remarkably clean- lined and uncomplicated appearance and visually balanced massif of hull and superstructure.
RO-RO
Outstanding Ro-Ro Concept
TOR MAGNOLIA
The largest freight ro-ro vessel on the North Sea combining an innovative hullform and propulsion system with a rational cargo system. Within the constrained dimensions obtaining the largest possible freight capacity.
