Scottish government charters Pentland Ferries' ALFRED for nine months

FerryIn a move that has been long anticipated, the Scottish government has bareboat chartered one of Pentland Ferries two passenger/vehicle catamaran ferries to improve CalMac’s resilience issues on its lifeline Clyde and Hebrides ferries network. The big surprise is, however, that Transport Scotland has chartered the larger and newest of the two catamarans, ALFRED, instead of the older, smaller PENTALINA, for nine months.
