YardThe future of the last remaining commercial shipyard on the Lower Clyde in Scotland was decided on 2 October when it was announced by the administrators of Ferguson Marine Engineering Ltd (FMEL) that the yard would be nationalised by the Scottish Government, despite three firm commercial bids for the shipyard for outside interests.
