CalMac’s chartered catamaran ALFRED finally enters service

FerryCalMac’s chartered catamaran ferry ALFRED finally entered service on the company’s Ardrossan to Brodick service on 12 May, becoming the second vessel on the route. The catamaran, owned by another Scottish ferry operator Pentland Ferries has been chartered by Transport Scotland for nine months, at a cost of GBP 9 million, to add resilience to Scotland’s largest ferry operator’s west coast service.
