Weak Swedish krona causes more Danes to sail across the Kattegat
FerryStena Line reports a 30 percent increase in the number of bookings for the winter holidays compared to last year. Stena Line is now looking forward to spring, where the company is already seeing a slight increase in bookings on the two routes Frederikshavn-Gøteborg and Grenå-Halmstad.
The winter weeks were busy on Stena Line's ferry routes between Jutland and Sweden, where especially the ferries sailing between Frederikshavn and Gothenburg could tell that the Danes were on winter holiday. During the winter holiday weeks, compared to last year, Stena Line had a 30 percent increase in the number of bookings on the two routes Frederikshavn-Gøteborg and Grenå-Halmstad.
Now the ferry company looks forward to the spring holidays and extended weekends with anticipation. Stena Line is already reporting a four percent increase in the number of bookings for spring on its two ferry routes across the Kattegat.
"It is very positive that we can see a continued great interest in travel across the Kattegat among the Danes. In the current economic situation, consumers are looking towards places where you can get a lot for your money, and here our ferry routes are an important transport corridor between western Denmark and Sweden," says Ulf Staaff, Travel Commercial Manager at Stena Line.
Stena Line sails with the ferries STENA DANICA, STENA JUTLANDICA and STENA VINGA from Frederikshavn to Gothenburg in just 3 hours and 20 minutes, while the ferry STENA NAUTICA sails between Grenå and Halmstad in 4 hours and 35 minutes. All the ferries have restaurants, play areas and shops on board, as well as the possibility to bring a car and bicycle.
