New luxury dining concept on the Copenhagen-Oslo route was not profitable
FerryGo Nordic Cruiseline has been forced to scale back one of its new restaurant concepts on the cruise ferry route between Copenhagen and Oslo. As part of the revitalization of the route, which Gotlandsbolaget took over from DFDS in 2024, a number of new dining concepts were introduced aboard the route’s two cruise ferries, NORDIC PEARL and NORDIC CROWN.
Among them was the luxury restaurant Nord, offering a ten-course tasting menu combined with a wine pairing and champagne. Speaking to the Norwegian media outlet Din Side, Go Nordic Cruiseline stated that this high-end dining concept had not proven profitable due to insufficient passenger demand.
As a result, the concept is now being changed in recognition of the fact that passengers on the route are looking for cheaper and simpler food options - for example, a classic steak and a dessert, according to the media outlet.
