Molslinjen looking for a new CEO
FerryDenmark's largest ferry company, Molslinjen, is facing a change of management. The owners of Nordic Ferry Infrastructure (NFI) have initiated the process of finding a new CEO, which means that Kristian Durhuus will step down after almost three years.
Kristian Durhuus took over as CEO of Molslinjen in March 2023 in connection with Molslinjen's acquisition of ForSea, where he had been CEO since 2020 after nine years as COO of Copenhagen Airport. Now the owners have decided that the next phase in Molslinjen's development requires a different profile in the top management position.
"We have reached a point in Molslinjen's development where several significant and strategically important projects have been completed or well underway. Øresundslinjen is fully integrated into the business, we have put new electric ferries into operation on the Alslinjen and Samsølinjen, and we are in the process of building three battery-powered catamarans in Australia. Now the time has come to bring a new profile into the CEO role," says Carsten Jensen, CEO of Nordic Ferry Infrastructure.
Kristian Durhuus is leaving Molslinjen while the electrification of the Kattegat has started, leaving behind a company that is strong in the green transition and with several successful projects behind it.
"I will always be proud to have had a share in the world's largest electrification project at sea. At the same time, I am pleased to be able to leave Molslinjen after a successful integration of ForSea – today Øresundslinjen," says Kristian Durhuus.
Until a new CEO is found, Carsten Jensen will act as acting CEO of Molslinjen.
