TRICA back in service for Netherlands MOD
Ro-roThe Spliethoff owned ConRo, the 28,289 GT 2,963 lane metres and 643 TEU TRICA, has entered service for the Netherlands Defensie Verkeers en Vervoerorganisatie (DVVO) following the retrofitting of a container jib crane, intended to serve the forward cellular hold and on-deck container slots.
The vessel is intended to be used as a logistics vessel to transport military equipment and one of its first tasks was to ship UK MOD military vehicles from Immingham. This is part of ABP's Contingent Sea Mounting Capability agreement with the UK's MOD which shifts military logistics from Southampton's Marchwood port.
Most recently, the TRICA has been short term chartered back to Transfennica to cover for drydocked vessels. The DVVO also operates the 23,235 GT Flensburger-built 2,620 lane metres RoRo ship NEW AMSTERDAM.
