DFDS extends charters for three Godby vessels
Ro-roGodby Shipping has extended the charter with DFDS for LYSVIK SEAWAYS, LYSBRIS SEAWAYS, and TRANSPORTER until December 2027.
“LYSVIK SEAWAYS and LYSBRIS SEAWAYS joined our fleet in December 2021 and January 2022 respectively, when we purchased the vessels from DFDS. Since then, they have been carrying Norske Skog paper from Skogn, Norway, to Sheerness, UK, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Hamburg, Germany. TRANSPORTER joined our fleet from Eckerö Shipping in November 2025 and continued trading for DFDS between Drammen, Halden and Fredrikstad, Norway and Immingham, UK,” states Godby Shipping in an announcement regarding the charter extension.
Åland-based Godby Shipping currently owns a total of four smaller RoRo vessels with capacities ranging from 1,032 to 1,626 lane meters, as well as four pallet/side-port vessels - including the three vessels currently on charter to DFDS, where TRANSPORTER also has RoRo facilities. Furthermore, the company has two 1,650-lane-meter RoRo newbuilds on order, scheduled for delivery in 2028 and 2029.
