Ten more Portsmouth years for Brittany Ferries
FerryWhat has been described as a 'lucrative deal' is to keep Brittany Ferries as principal user of Portsmouth International Ferry Port through the next decade, Portsmouth City Council leader Donna Jones this week signing-off the plans which are seen as a huge success for the region’s economy.
The new agreement replaces an existing contract expiring at the end of December this year and runs through to 2027, Brittany Ferries expressing delight with a spokesman commenting: 'We're very happy with the deal which follows careful negotiation with our partners at the City Council. The deal is good for the people of Portsmouth and good for ferry travellers.'
Brittany Ferries is the International Port's only continuous customer since it opened in 1976 and currently operates cruise ferries BRETAGNE, CAP FINISTERE, MONT ST.MICHEL, NORMANDIE and PONT-AVEN to ports France and Northern Spain with seasonal hi-speed links by catamaran NORMANDIE EXPRESS to Cherbourg and 'Economie' services to Le Havre and Santander by ro-pax vessels BAIE-DE-SEINE and ETRETAT.
