Strait Link acquired by Igneo Infrastructure Partners
Ro-roIgneo Infrastructure Partners (Igneo), a global infrastructure investment manager which manages AUD 34.5 billion worth of assets, has acquired Strait Link, which owns and operate the two RoRo vessels VICTORIAN RELIANCE II and TASMANIAN ACHIEVER II.
Based in Tasmania and Victoria, Strait Link is the largest integrated freight logistics provider across the Bass Strait, linking Tasmania and mainland Australia. With long-term leases over strategic port terminals in Burnie and Melbourne and logistics depots across Tasmania, it has a 45% market share of the Bass Strait trade and is integral to the supply chain in the area.
Under the agreements, Igneo acquired Strait Link from Allegro Funds. The transaction is subject to a number of customary conditions, including regulatory consents and is expected to settle in the first half of 2026. Igneo is an autonomous investment team in the First Sentier Group. It invests in mid-market infrastructure companies in renewables, digital infrastructure, waste management, water utilities and transportation.
