Stena Line sees Sweden-Denmark growth ahead of the high season in July
FerryThe ferry routes Frederikshavn-Gothenburg and Grenaa-Halmstad are popular routes for the many Danes who are going on holiday in Sweden this summer. Stena Line reports an increase of 29 percent in Danish bookings on the routes in the high season compared to last year.
"The current economic situation and the low exchange rate of the Swedish krona affect Danes' travel patterns, so more people are looking for Sweden, where right now you can get a lot for your money as a Danish guest. Throughout 2023, we have experienced a great deal of interest in our routes over the Kattegat, and our preliminary booking figures for the summer indicate that the interest will continue into the summer holidays," says Christina Bromander, Trade Director for Business Region Denmark at Stena Line.
On the route between Grenaa and Halmstad, Stena Line reports an overall increase in travelers of 37 percent compared to last year. The trip to Halmstad takes 4 hours and 35 minutes with the ferry STENA NAUTICA, and further in Sweden, Swedish charm awaits in the coastal town of Halmstad, a 45 km long beach and the opportunity to explore the surrounding Swedish nature.
On Stena Line's second ferry route from Frederikshavn to Gothenburg, the company reports an overall increase in passengers of 24 percent compared to last year. The trip to Gothenburg takes 3 hours and 20 minutes with one of the three ferries STENA DANICA, STENA JUTLANDICA or STENA VINGA, and this summer guests in the city can experience life and many activities in connection with the city's 400th anniversary.
