Brittany Ferries’ Saint-Malo–Guernsey passenger traffic up 56.5% on 2024
FerryBrittany Ferries carried 102,094 passengers between Saint-Malo and Guernsey from November 2025 to September 2026. The company said this is an increase of 56.5% compared with the same period in 2024.
That is 36,852 more passengers than in 2024, the last year Condor Ferries operated the route. Brittany Ferries resumed the Saint-Malo–Guernsey service in 2025. It serves the island under a 15-year agreement with the States of Guernsey.
“We are pleased to see the progress of travel between France and Guernsey,” said Christophe Mathieu, Chairman of the Board of Brittany Ferries. He said the company’s programme gives passengers direct crossings at more suitable times and a wider choice of departures.
Compared with the same 11-month period a year earlier, Saint-Malo–Guernsey traffic rose by 0.5%.
Across all routes serving Guernsey, passenger numbers increased by 28.8% compared with 2024, or 52,037 more passengers. They rose by 2.4% compared with 2025, following growth of 25.8% in 2025. Routes between Guernsey and Poole and Portsmouth recorded a 13.2% increase compared with 2024.
Routes serving Guernsey now account for 44% of passenger traffic on the main sea routes between France, the UK and the Channel Islands, up from 33% in 2024. Total traffic on these routes over the 11 months was 4.1% lower than in 2024.
In 2026, Brittany Ferries and Visit Guernsey stepped up the promotion of overnight stays to French customers. The aim is to encourage visitors to stay longer on the island.
“Our ambition is not limited to developing crossings between Saint-Malo and Guernsey. We also want to contribute to the development of tourism on the island, by encouraging French visitors to stay longer,” Mathieu said.
He added: “Growth is more moderate this year, but it confirms that we have reached a milestone. Since 2024, we have sustainably increased passenger volumes to Guernsey. As I said when we resumed service to Guernsey in 2025, this is a long-term commitment and a long-term partnership.”
