Shipyard sought to build replacement vessel for 50 year-old Alaskan ferry

FerryThe Alaskan Department of Transport is shortly to go out to tender for the construction of a new passenger/vehicle ferry to replace Alaska Marine Highway Systems’ 4,529 gt, 1964-built TUSTUMENA. The MUSD240 newbuilding contract will be signed once State Funding for the vessel is in place, with this funding coming via the State Legislative process.
