SFL inks new tonnage for its PCTC fleet
Ro-roSFL Corporation has ordered four LNG dual-fuel PCTCs for delivery in 2029. Two of the four 7,000 CEU newbuildings have been fixed on 5+5-year charters commencing upon delivery. This is revealed in SFL Corporation’s Q2 2026 report. The company is listed in the US and controlled by Norwegian shipping magnate John Fredriksen.
The four PCTCs, with a combined contract value of USD 363 million, will be built in China, with two ordered from Guangzhou Shipyard International and two from CIMC Raffles.
In addition to the four-PCTC newbuilding order, the financial report reveals that SFL Corporation secured three-year charter contracts for two of its existing PCTCs during the second quarter of 2026, with a combined charter value of USD 83 million. The vessels concerned are SFL CONDUCTOR and SFL COMPOSER, both of which have been chartered to Volkswagen.
SFL Corporation’s owned fleet, including newbuildings, currently comprises 61 vessels across several segments, with containerships accounting for the largest share. Including the four newly ordered vessels, the company’s PCTC fleet comprises 11 units.
