Record year for the Bornholm ferries
Ferry2022 set a record for ferries to and from Bornholm. There have never before been more passengers, cars and trucks on the three routes to the island.
- 1,948,140 passengers travelled back and forth on the three routes in 2022. This is almost 90,000 more than in the previous record year 2019.
- 573,126 cars were transported – almost 40,000 more than in the previous record year for cars in 2021.
- 47,443 trucks were transported –almost 1000 more than the record year 2021.
"Bornholm is a strong brand that has performed well all the way through the corona period, and it is very satisfying to see that the island has come back so strongly in the first year after the pandemic", says Molslinjen's commercial director, Jesper Skovgaard.
2023 will be the year when the ferry capacity to Bornholm will be significantly increased - and there is therefore hope that 2022 will not be the last record year for the island's ferry traffic.
"With EXPRESS 5 as the main ferry for most of next year, there will be capacity to further develop the traffic to the benefit of tourism and all the associated businesses - and of course also for the people of Bornholm who just want cheap travel back and forth", says Jesper Skovgaard.
