Merna Shipping acquires a second Grimaldi ship and expands with new services
Ro-roEarlier this year, Merna Shipping purchased the 1998-built, 2,700-lanemetre ro-ro ship EUROCARGO ISTANBUL from the Grimaldi Group, with the ship being renamed MERNA 2. Now its sister ship, EUROCARGO SALERNO, has been sold to Merna Shipping as well, thereby, as RAHAF 1, becoming the sixth ship in the company’s fleet.
Merna Shipping has introduced a new ro-ro service from Spain, France, and Italy to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, named the Mediterranean Express Service (MES. This new service connects Alicante, Marseille, and Genoa with Alexandria, Jeddah, and Jebel Ali. The first sailing is scheduled for the first week of June from Alicante, following the above rotation.
