Government of T&T to order freight ferry this year and renews charter of CABO STAR

FerryAfter being discussed for a number of years, the Government of Trinidad & Tobago has finally announced that it will order a dedicated freight ferry for its landbridge service between Port of Spain and Scarborough. At the same time it has confirmed that it has renewed the charter of the 19,963 gt 1988-built ro-pax CABO STAR from Vancouver-based Bridgemans Services Group. This vessel, which will be replaced by the newbuilding, has a capacity for 2,100 lanemetres of freight and 130 passengers.
