YOUSHO MARU

YOUSHO MARU

Fujitrans welcomes their new YOUSHO MARU

Ro-roFujitrans' latest RoRo vessel, the YOUSHO MARU, has been delivered by Naikai Zosen in Japan. The 16,692 GRT and 7,026 dwt RoRo vessel combines a capacity of 150 x 13m trailers on three decks with 930 cars on four dedicated car decks, a combination that Fujitrans has long espoused on the daily Nagoya – Sendai – Tomakomai route.

It is equipped with two stern quarter ramps and fixed internal ramps. The 164.88m long by 30.2m beam vessel replaces an older RoRo of similar name, reducing CO2 emissions by 20% by the use of an advanced hullform and propulsion system.

Equipped with the latest MAN B&W 9S50ME-C main engine with an output of 17,100 kW at 125 rpm, the vessel can maintain a service speed of 23 knots. For the first time on a Japanese RoRo vessel, it is equipped with a Becker twisted rudder with bulb as well as a twisted fin, located just forward of the propeller. The existing YOUSHOU MARU will not be sold but rather transferred to other Fujitrans routes.
