Fred. Olsen Express summarizes the effect of third RoRo vessel
Ro-roFred. Olsen Express’s 1,800 lanemetres BAHIA CARGO celebrates one year connecting the Canary Islands. Since it began operating on 12 November 2024, it has transported 100,700 lanemetres of cargo. With a total of 841 trips and 54,396 nautical miles sailed, this vessel strengthens the company’s commitment to its logistics service, launched in 2024 with the purchase of two RoRo vessels
Currently, Fred. Olsen Cargo Express has three vessels dedicated exclusively to freight transport: BENTAYGA CARGO, BAHIA CARGO, and BRENAS CARGO. In this way, the shipping company offers four daily connections between Gran Canaria and Tenerife; one daily connection from each port between Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote; and three weekly connections between Tenerife and La Palma. It also links the archipelago with mainland Spain via Huelva.
“The data has shown us the steady growth of our cargo service, as well as the trust customers place in the company. It has been a year of consolidation, in which we have succeeded in optimizing routes and offering more efficient logistics solutions - a service designed to guarantee supply and meet the particularities of island territories, said Juan Ignacio Liaño, Fred. Olsen Express’s Fleet Director.
