CIUDAD DE GRANADA back from Besiktas shipyard
FerryCIUDAD DE GRANADA has returned after four months at the Besiktas shipyard (Turkey), where it underwent a comprehensive renovation. It is now sporting the new corporate image of Grimaldi Trasmed and scrubbers and a ballast water treatment plant has been installed.
CIUDAD DE GRANADA's external appearance has undergone modifications and a silicone paint has been applied to the bottom of the ship to improve its resistance to water. From its external appearance, in addition to the characteristic blue colour, the reform of the funnel to house the four exhaust scrubbers stands out.
Regarding the maintenance of the machinery, work has been carried out on the main and auxiliary engines, as well as on the propulsion propellers and shaft lines, including the polishing of the propeller blades.
CIUDAD DE GRANADA followed CIUDAD DE PALMA, VOLCAN DE TIJARAFE, VOLCAN DEL TEIDE in a EUR 30 million fleet upgrade programme.
