Bad start for PINAR DEL RIO on Almeria/Malaga-Melilla route

High-speedIt was previously reported that the NISSOS CHIOS would be replaced by the high-speed craft PINAR DEL RIO on Baleària services to Melilla from both Almeria and Malaga. This proved to be very short-lived, as the first sailings were cancelled due to weather conditions, and then on Monday May 1, PINAR DEL RIO had a steering problem which ended with the vessel striking the eastern harbour wall in the Port of Malaga whilst manoeuvring towards its berth.
