AMHS can begin its fleet upgrade programme following USD 285 million grant

FerryFerry services in the US west coast state of Alaska are set for a major upgrade following the award of a USD 285 million grant from the Federal government to improve the lifeline ferry services in the state, operated by Alaska Marine Highway Systems (AMHS). The money will be used to build and design new ferries and upgrade existing vessels, as well as build new port facilities and upgrade existing ones.
