Wasaline has launched a mobile application – for a more efficient way of travel
Wasaline has launched a mobile application to make booking and travelling easier. The mobile app is developed together with Carus, who also delivered the booking system along with the web booking system to Wasaline. In order to make the web booking more user-friendly Wasaline has during the past development process updated the web booking system to a new Carus Standard Web.
Carus is a Finnish world leading company focused on booking, check-in, boarding and onboard sales solutions for the ferry industry. Carus has developed a standard app platform customized for the ferry industry, this platform will reduce the development time for ferry lines to produce a high-class app.
“We have spent a substantial amount of time developing an APP-platform that makes it very simple for our clients to introduce a professional APP into their business. We are happy that Wasaline chose our APP and we are proud of the end result”, says Carus’ CEO Anders Rundberg.
The Wasaline app makes travelling easy and smooth. All information needed for the journey is just at the tip of the fingers. Book new trips, manage bookings, check-in and board smoothly without going by the check-in counter.
Passengers can easily keep track of the cruise program onboard, book meals and cabins, check timetables and get acquainted with the Q&A’s. Members of Wasaline’s frequent traveler program can log in using their existing username and password.
“Wasaline is continually working on enhancing the customer service and we have, for a long time, focused on improving and automating the check-in and boarding processes to make them as smooth as possible”, says Johanna Långskog, Head of Marketing at Wasaline.
The passenger terminals in Umeå and Vaasa have been equipped with passenger gates as a part of a larger development process. Check-in and boarding are now done without extra queuing to the check-in counter. The ticket can either be booked through the new application, on the Wasaline website or via the telephone booking. When the ticket is booked and paid, a confirmation is sent to the passenger's email address.
Each gate is equipped with a code reader at which the passenger checks in by scanning the QR code obtained in the booking confirmation. The mobile application makes the booking and travel process easy. You can download the app for free in Appstore and Google play.
