Veteran ASTORIA bowing-out for CMV
ASTORIA, the world's oldest ocean-going passenger vessel, is to leave the Cruise & Maritime Voyages' fleet in April 2017 after a near two month programme from London Tilbury culminating with a 10 night 'Round Britain' itinerary.
The 550-passenger ASTORIA was built as Swedish transatlantic ship STOCKHOLM in 1948 and joined the CMV line-up at the beginning of 2015. Previously named AZORES there had been a US$150 million refit in 1994.
CMV will add P&O Cruises Australia's PACIFIC PEARL to its fleet as COLUMBUS in June 2017 and there will be further service for ASTORIA with a charter to French cruise line Rivages du Monde beginning in June 2017.
