Tallink Silja Line introduces new private label wine and beer selection for 2026–2028
FerryTallink Silja Line announces its new private label collection of wines and beers, created exclusively for the company. The new selection will be available onboard the vessels, as well as in hotels, restaurants and in the web shop from May 2026 until April 2028.
The new Tallink Silja Line Ship's Wines and Beers were chosen as a result of international competition and a blind tasting process. The selection was made by the company's in-house extensive panel of experts, including sommeliers, wine and beer experts and both onshore and onboard restaurant managers.
„The tradition of selecting Tallink Silja Line's ship wines and beers reaches back decades," said Aimar Pärna, Head of Tallink Duty Free. „Every two years, new signature drinks are carefully chosen to reflect evolving guest preferences, culinary trends and the highest standards of quality. The 2026–2028 collection continues this legacy, uniting craftsmanship, sustainability and flavour under Tallink Silja Line's private labels."
During the Ship's Wine selection process, wines' origin, grape variety, price, sustainability, and taste profile are taken into account. Also, a blind tasting takes place, where Tallink Silja Line's ship sommeliers and onboard wine experts evaluate around 150 wines, judging them solely on quality, flavour, balance, and character.
„I'm both proud and exited to introduce our new Ship's Wines collection – a curated selection of champagne, prosecco, white, rosé and red wine. Crafted by respected producers from France, Italy and Spain, each wine has been bottled and labelled exclusively for Tallink Silja Line," said sommelier Annamari Nikkel, Wine Category Manager for Tallink Duty Free, and member of the jury. „Each wine has been selected not only for its individual quality, but for the way it complements dining across Tallink Silja Line's fleet. Just as importantly, these wines are chosen to tell a story and to take our guests on a journey. From sustainably tended vineyards in Spain to the sun-drenched landscapes of Italy, and the heritage and craftsmanship of long-established champagne house, every bottle brings a distinct sense of place onboard, inviting discovery with every glass," Nikkel added.
Alongside the wines, Tallink Silja Line also announces the winners of its official Ship's Beer selection. From 37 submitted craft beers by breweries in Finland, Sweden, Germany and Estonia, one premium-quality lager and one premium porter were selected following a strict blind tasting process.
"With the new lager and porter, we're offering two very different but equally strong experiences – one refreshing and crisp, the other rich and indulgent – both perfectly suited to the atmosphere onboard," said Birgit Ummer, Beer Category Manager at Tallink Duty Free. „The light and refreshing Õllenaut Sea Lager pairs perfectly with seafood, burgers and pizza, whereas the full and rich Rügener Insel-Brauerei Baltic Porter is ideal with roasted meats, barbecue dishes and hearty cuisine, also with rich desserts."
All of the 2026-2028 selection Ship's wines and beers are sustainably produced and vegan.
