Torghatten takes over Norway’s third largest ferry route

FerryNorwegian ferry operator Torghatten Nord AS has won a contract for Statens Vegvesen, the governmental transport agency, to service the route Helhjem-Sandvikvåg, the third largest in Norway with over 2.2 million passengers and 965.000 vehicles transported in 2015.
Total contract value is MNOK 5.000 and runs between 2019-2026 with 5x1 year options there after.
Five gas-electric ferries will be built for the purpose, which each will have a capacity of 499 passengers and 180 cars.
