MEGASTAR will be delivered in the first half of January 2017. After that crew familiarization and trainings will take place before she sets sail for her first crossings from Tallinn (13:30 hrs) and Helsinki (16:30hrs).
The newbuilding which offers 40% more space for passengers than the current ferries on the route, will be loaded via two decks, with shoreside ramps being currently installed in both Tallinn and Helsinki. In Helsinki, MEGASTAR will be calling at West Harbour, where the Port of Helsinki is currently erecting a new passenger terminal for the fast ferries which are sailing the route.
MEGASTAR will offer four different travel classes, with the Standard Star Class, the Comfort Class, the exclusive Business Lounge and – a new class – the Sitting Lounge. Passengers will be able to choose from seven different restaurants and cafés on board, including the classic buffet restaurant, an á la carte, a fast food restaurant and cafeterias. Not to forget pubs and bars, as well as the obligatory playing area for the youngest passengers.
The 49,000gt ship at a length of 212 meters will have a capacity of 2800 passengers and will sail at a service speed of up to 27 knots.
