Stena signs Letter-of-Intent for first C-Flexer newbuild
Ro-roWhile Stena on 16 October held the naming ceremony for STENA CONNECTA, the second of two NewMax RoRo newbuildings at CMI Jinling Weihai in China, Stena and the shipyard also marked the signing of a Letter-of-Intent (LOI) for the construction of a RoRo vessel based on the larger so-called C-Flexer design.
Also designed by NAOS, this represents a new flexible multi-fuel battery hybrid tonnage platform which will serve the intermediate and large-size segment in the RoRo market. A highly flexible tonnage platform which can be adopted to customers’ needs.
It is therefore the first time that Stena has taken concrete steps to realize the C-Flexer design with a length overall of 216 metres, a beam of 30,4 metres, and a possible lanemetre spectre between 3,500 and 5,050.
