Port of Gothenburg Q1–Q3 2025: Traffic and Volumes Update
PortDuring the first three quarters of 2025, Port of Gothenburg saw a slight increase in RoRo traffic following a slower period. Car volumes declined by 9 percent, with European exports down 13 percent and U.S. exports down 21 percent, while imports rose modestly.
Handling of energy products decreased by 7 percent, though September showed a notable increase of 22 percent. Passenger traffic remained stable at 1.1 million, and cruise traffic recorded 55 calls with 75,000 passengers. Rail transport of goods continued to grow, with over 60 percent of container cargo moving by train, reflecting the port’s ongoing emphasis on sustainable land transport.
