Political turn for Scottish ferries

FerryThe Scottish Government appears to be moving away from long-standing tendering processes for domestic ferry operations with Caledonian MacBrayne set to be awarded a new contract for Clyde and Hebridean services without tendering while the future procedure for routes to Orkney and Shetland, where Serco Northlink’s current contract has been extended by 18 months, is under consideration and could follow suit.
