Dagfinn Neteland and Geir Bruvik Mjelde
New managing director at Fjord1
FerryDagfinn Neteland steps down as chief executive of the company, with his last working day on 31 May. The new managing director is Geir Bruvik Mjelde, who will assume the position on 1 June. After 10 years as chief executive of Fjord1, Dagfinn Neteland is stepping down at his own request. The process of finding a successor has been planned over an extended period in close dialogue with the chairman and owners. As Neteland now departs, he looks back with pride on the company’s performance in recent years.
- These have been fantastic years at Fjord1 – in a highly exciting and meaningful industry. Fjord1 has been a pioneer and is today the undisputed leading company, well-positioned with significant potential for the future. We have replaced diesel vessels with new environmentally friendly technology, and now the next generation of high-speed boats and autonomy is next, a symbolically significant testament to how far we have come. For me, the “circle is complete” here, and it is only positive that new forces take over.
- Dagfinn has done a fantastic job, and we thank him for his efforts and the strong results. He has been a major and important contributor to building Fjord1 into the leading company it has become today. He has been a forward-thinking and capable leader, and we wish him the best of luck moving forward.
- I am very much looking forward to learning about and getting to know a new industry. Ferries and high-speed boats are new to me, but I feel confident in the expertise within Fjord1, given the strong results the company delivers. I am proud and grateful for the trust that the owners and the board have shown by appointing me, says Mjelde.
