
Moby to buy two ferries from Russia?
FerryOnorato Armatori group already aims at strengthening the Moby Lines fleet by waving at two Russian ferries, the PRINCESS MARIA and SPL PRINCESS ANASTASIA, currently operated by St Peter Line.
The PRINCESS MARIA, built in Turku in 1981 (26,000 GT, 1,670 passengers and 1,000 lane meters) has been owned by DFDS Scandinavia (since 1990) and has been operated by St Peter Line between Helsinki and St. Petersburg since 2010.
The SPL PRINCESS ANASTASIA was built in Turku in 1986, she belonged to P&O Ferries for several years and was engaged on the Portsmouth-Bilbao link as PRIDE OF BILBAO before being sold to St Peter Line in 2010 to serve the Stockholm-Tallinn-Saint Petersburg-Helsinki line. The 38,000 GT ferry is capable of 2,500 passengers and over 1,000 lane metres of rolling cargoes.
