JANTAR UNITY’s sister ship begins sea trials

FerryRemontowa Shiprepair Yard began the first sea trial of its hull No. 102 early this morning, local time, in the southern Baltic Sea off Gdansk, Poland.

The newbuilding, which will be named BURSZTYN UNITY, is the second of two vessels currently being built by the yard for the POLSCA Baltic Ferries partnership, comprising Unity Line, Polferries and Euroafrica. Both vessels in the series—the 2025-built JANTAR UNITY and the forthcoming BURSZTYN UNITY - were ordered by Unity Line.

The planned third vessel, intended for delivery to partner Polferries in 2029, remains uncertain because of the company’s current financial difficulties. Remontowa Shiprepair Yard is due to deliver hull No. 102 to Unity Line in November, after which BURSZTYN UNITY will enter service on POLSCA Baltic Ferries’ routes between Poland and Sweden.
