Grimaldi buys one Livorno’s ro-ro terminal and bids for a cruise-ferry terminal
PortGrimaldi has acquired more stakes into Sintermar Livorno, a terminal operator specialized in containers and rolling cargo. Back in 2014 the group already bought 50% shares in Coifi (a company controlled by Fremura); now Grimaldi has 90%.
Further developments might involve Porto Livorno 2000, the mixed private public company handling passengers on cruises and ferries, which is the object of a privatization procedure since quite some time: last year Livorno Port Authority called a tender to sell 66% shares (left 34% would be equally split between Port Authority and Chamber of Commerce). Four pools showed their interest, among which CFG Cruise & Ferry Group made of Costa Crociere (40%), Grimaldi (40%) Fremura (20%).
The four binding offers submitted in April 2016 are expected to be assessed by late September.
