FRS Express des Îles strengthens fleet with the addition of TOPAZE EXPRESS
High-speedThe FRS Group and its subsidiary FRS Express des Iles announced a development in their operations in the Caribbean: the addition of the modern high-speed catamaran TOPAZE EXPRESS, scheduled to enter service at the end of 2025.
With a length of 42 metres, a maximum speed of 28 knots, and space for 400 passengers across two decks (280 seats on the main deck, 120 on the upper deck, plus an open-air aft area), TOPAZE EXPRESS is designed to meet the requirements of FRS Express des Îles’ operations and the expectations of its passengers. The vessel will provide a reliable, regular, and comfortable maritime service on both regional and international routes.
“This vessel is more than just an investment in our fleet, it is an investment in the communities and destinations we serve,” said Onick Deravel, Managing Director of FRS Express des Iles.
“By combining proven technology with our strong focus on comfort and safety, we are ensuring that our maritime connections remain dependable and attractive for years to come."
“For our passengers, TOPAZE EXPRESS means more space, greater comfort, and a smoother ride — whether they are daily commuters or visitors exploring the islands," added Moritz Bruns, President of FRS Express des îles.
TOPAZE EXPRESS was bought from Damen Trading but was built by Damen’s Singapore shipyard in 2018 and delivered as MAGALANG EXPRESS to Mabuhay Maritime Express in the Philippines.
