Fjord1 signs 15-year contract for Sogn og Fjordane connections
FerryA 15-year contract has been signed for Fjord1 to operate several Sogn og Fjordane connections, starting in November 2027. The contract covers several important ferry connections in Sogn og Fjordane: Måløy – Husevågøy – Oldeide, Isane – Stårheim, Askvoll – Fure – Værlandet and Rysjedalsvika – Rutledal – Krakhella. In addition, the contract includes an option for operation of the Askvoll – Gjervik – Fure connection.
Regional Manager Jan Petter Thomsen expresses great joy that the contract has now been signed:
- Winning this contract is an important milestone, and we look forward to delivering sustainable and reliable transportation solutions to travelers.
The contract means that the connections Måløy – Husevågøy – Oldeide, Isane – Stårheim and Askvoll – Fure – Værlandet will go from diesel to electric operation, while the other connections will be partially powered by electricity.
- This contract means that over the next three years, Fjord1 will implement a significant reduction in diesel consumption and CO2 emissions from the ferry fleet in the old Sogn og Fjordane County, concludes Thomsen.
