Fjord1 Has Been Awarded Express Ferry Routes
High-speedFjord1 has been awarded the contract for the operation of the ferry routes between Bergen, Sogn and Nordfjord. The contract was awarded by Skyss and applies from 1 December 2026 to 1 December 2029 – with possible extension for up to three years.
–The contract is a milestone in Fjord1's commitment to grow in the Norwegian high-speed ferry market. There are also synergies for existing activities in Bergen with high-speed ferries and an important leg in the tourism segment, says managing director Geir Bruvik Mjelde.
Environment was an element in the evaluation of the bidders, where conventional operation of the vessels is planned. The current route structure, timetables and minimum capacity requirements will largely be continued in the new contract.
–It is very pleasing that Fjord1 once again becomes the operator of the routes between Nordfjord, Bergen and Sogn. This is an assignment that has deep roots in Fjord1. After the quarantine period and contract signing, we will immediately start the work with preparations for the start-up.
In the competition for the contract, great emphasis was placed on both price and environment. Fjord1's offer came out best in price, in addition to a high standard on climate and environment.
