DIONISIOS SOLOMOS to be rebuilt for the Aegean
FerryPlans for a vessel upgrade have been made official yesterday. The 115,60m long Greek ferry from A.N.M.E.Z. S.A. will be prepared for service in the Western Cyclades as from next summer.
The principal part of this conversion regards the modification of her bow's shape, the implementation of Stockholm Agreement for a significant wave height 2,50 meters and the upgrade of all passengers and crew accommodation spaces.
Anastasios P. Kipouropoulos Technical Naval Co. Ltd. is the naval architect in charge, and is the one that already worked on ANDREAS KALVOS a few years back, and recently on NEARCHOS.
The whole design (drawings and calculations) will be approved and surveyed by RINA, regarding class items and by Merchant Ship Inspectorate (technical department of Merchant Marine Ministry) regarding safety items which will issue all statutory certificates.
