BC Ferries’ Q1 results show growth, but still well below pre-pandemic levels

FinanceBC Ferries released its Q1 results for the three months ended 30 June 2021. Revenues increased to CAD 229 million (CAD 137.4 million), much due to the CAD 308 million in Safe Restart Funding received in December 2020. Net earnings reached CAD 4.7 million (-CAD 62.0 million).
Vehicle and passenger traffic increased 37% and 40% respectively, compared to the same period in the prior year. Compared to pre-pandemic levels in fiscal 2020 however, vehicle and passenger traffic was lower by 27% and 46% respectively.
