1,000 extra ferry crossing for FanøFærgen
Ferry The number of travelers on FanøFærgen has seen an explosive growth since off-season prices were decreased. For the same reason the route will now have significantly more departures.
As prices on ferry tickets as from September 1, 2016 were reduced for a number of Danish islands, there was a natural expectation that this would create growth in the number of travelers.
However, probably nobody had foreseen the extent of the traffic boom.
Overall, the number of transferred passenger cars in September, October and November increased by 20.1 percent compared with the same period last year.
In order to keep up with the demand, more than 1,000 extra crossings were added to the plan for 2017. This brings the total number of annual departures up to 30,370.
Fanø is a Danish island, southwest of Esbjerg.
