VIKING GLORY to make evening voyages from Turku when VIKING GRACE is dry-docked
FerryIn January, the Turku–Mariehamn–Stockholm route will offer something special when VIKING GLORY takes over evening departures and GABRIELLA makes a guest star appearance for the route’s morning departures. Both vessels will offer new experiences as they fill in for VIKING GRACE, which will undergo a refurbishment during its dry-docking.
VIKING GRACE will be dry-docked at the Turku Repair Yard in Naantali and return to service fresher than ever on 29 January. During VIKING GRACE’s dry-docking, VIKING GLORY will operate as Turku's evening ferry, while GABRIELLA, which usually sails between Helsinki and Stockholm, will move to Turku for morning departures on that route.
“The evening sailing from Turku is known for having the best artists on the Baltic Sea, which entices passengers especially in the Turku region to travel, often spontaneously, to listen to music and party. It’s nice that we can offer new experiences to everyone who likes our evening departures in January, when the luxurious GLORY fills in for its sister vessel GRACE,” says VIKING GLORY’s intendant, Tuuli Peltonen.
In January, VIKING GLORY will offer a wonderful selection of artists. Among those appearing on stage are Finlanders, Mikael Gabriel, Teflon Brothers, Suurlähettiläät and Yölintu.
“In our normal traffic schedule, entertainment on board GLORY’s evening departures to Stockholm is tailored to Swedish tastes. It will be fun to see how the character of the vessel changes when well-known Finnish artists provide the entertainment.”
The climax will be on 28 January, when VIKING GLORY makes a voyage using the “Helsinki model” – in other words, a Day in Stockholm cruise. Passengers sailing from Turku can then enjoy a full day in Stockholm and the variety of options available on board for two full evenings. GABRIELLA will also offer new experiences in Turku.
“I really recommend trying out GABRIELLA’s Junior Suite and Seaside Premium cabins with a balcony. It’s a fantastic experience in the winter as well to see the world’s most beautiful archipelago pass by as dusk falls and the vessel leaves its berth in Turku.”
