Tersan celebrates steel cutting and launch of Norwegian ferries

FerryAt the Turkish Tersan Shipyard, a steel-cutting ceremony was held for build number 1137, a 74-metre electric ferry for Fjord1 with a 6 MWh battery pack, while Tersan Havyard launched the 84.5-metre SØHOLMEN for Norled. This vessel will also operate fully electric, thanks to its large 8 MWh battery pack.

NB1137 will have capacity for 250 passengers and 60 cars. It will be delivered in April 2027 and will operate for Fjord1 between Rysjedalsvika, Rutledal, Krakhella, and Losna. The ship has two sister vessels that will be delivered in 2026.

SØHOLMEN will have a similar capacity to NB1137, but will operate for Norled between Stokkvågen, Lovund, and Træna. SØHOLMEN will have three sister vessels, all scheduled for delivery in 2026.
