Telenor Maritime and Wallix announce strategic partnership for remote access in maritime industry
Telenor Maritime and Wallix have formed a strategic partnership to enhance cybersecurity in the maritime industry. This collaboration aims to address the growing need for secure remote access solutions, particularly in light of the new EU NIS2 regulations, which impose strict cybersecurity requirements on critical infrastructure, including maritime operations.
By integrating Wallix’s advanced Identity and Access Management product with Telenor Maritime’s expertise in maritime communications and digitalisation, the partnership will provide ship operators with a robust remote access solution. This integration is designed to protect ships from cyber threats, improve operational efficiency, and support environmental sustainability.
Key features include full control and visibility for captains, allowing them to monitor and manage access to onboard systems effectively. This approach not only ensures regulatory compliance but also minimizes operational disruptions and the need for physical maintenance visits, which again contributes to a more sustainable maritime industry.
“Our partnership with Telenor Maritime marks a significant milestone in advancing cybersecurity for the maritime industry (…),” says Laurent Gentil, Wallix Global Channel Director.
Morten Martens Breivik, Chief Strategic Officer at Telenor Maritime, emphasizes that the collaboration will not only help meet strict regulatory standards but also improve the safety and efficiency of maritime operations.
