Surikat leads automation project of Scandlines’ ports
Scandlines operates two ferry routes with high capacity and frequency between Germany and Denmark. In a close collaboration with Scandlines, Swedish tech company Surikat will during 2023 secure the implementation of its Lynx SaaS TOS and GOS solutions, together with edge hardware, to automate Scandlines’ terminal operations.
The initial roll-out will be in the Scandlines ports of Puttgarden and Rødby.
The scope of the delivery includes self-service sales and check-in, dynamic lane management, and automated loading and unloading - for freight, foot passengers and cars. This Smart port solution will bring Scandlines to the forefront of port automation in Europe, and take customer experience of ferry travel to the next level.
“This project is a key step and cornerstone in Scandlines’ strategy to continue to be the preferred choice of travel for both customers going on holiday, wanting to shop in our BorderShop and our freight operators travelling to and from Scandinavia and Continental Europe” - Michael Guldmann Petersen, COO Scandlines.
Surikat will bring its experience in digitalising and automating many other terminals across Europe and abroad to this common project, creating a ‘Smart Port’ solution which will give the best possible customer experience to all Scandlines’ customers.
"We are very pleased that Scandlines has chosen Surikat and Lynx to help make the Scandlines ports, ‘ports of the future’. We are looking forward to sharing our accumulated knowledge as we implement our Lynx system, the most advanced Smart Port solution on the market, and we look forward to a long and productive business relationship with Scandlines" - Andreas Karlsson, CEO at Surikat AB, Sweden.
