Stena Line, SkiStar and Sembo launch all-in-one ski holiday packages
FerryDanish skiers are increasingly choosing Sweden’s mountains over the Alps for their winter breaks, and now Stena Line, SkiStar and Sembo have made the trip even simpler with the launch of new complete ski holiday packages that bundle ferry travel, accommodation, meals and lift passes in one easy booking.
In recent years, Denmark's love affair with Swedish ski resorts has grown steadily, and all signs point to the trend continuing strongly this coming season. The February school holidays have become peak time for Danish skiing families, with both Stena Line and SkiStar reporting significant year-on-year increases in Danish bookings.
To capitalise on this enthusiasm and tempt even more Danes away from traditional Alpine destinations, the three companies have joined forces to offer seamless ski packages that include the ferry crossing, meals on board, lift passes and accommodation – everything sorted with a single click.
"We've seen how warmly Danes have embraced Sweden's mountains – perhaps because they can reach world-class skiing without long flights, or because snow conditions further south have become less reliable," said Ulf Staaff, Travel Commercial Manager at Stena Line. "The winter break has become a firm family favourite, and many choose Stena Line for a fast, comfortable journey straight to the slopes. With these new all-in-one packages, booking is now simpler than ever – one reservation and everything is taken care of."
The collaboration builds on an already successful 2025 ski season. During week 7 (Denmark's main winter holiday week), Stena Line carried 34% more Danish skiers than the previous year, while coach bookings on the route have risen 10–15% annually since 2022. The new packages are designed to sustain this growth and make the Swedish ski experience even more convenient and enjoyable.
The all-in-one ski holidays can be booked now through sembo.dk and stenaline.dk and include SkiStar's most popular Swedish resorts, among them Sälen, Åre and Vemdalen.
