The milestone follows two recent deliveries. Grimaldi Group's PCTC GRANDE ORIENTE entered service in June, followed by Wallenius Wilhelmsen's PCTC ARCTIC TERN in July.

Silverstream lists the achievement as part of the wider adoption of Energy Efficiency Technologies (EETs) across the maritime industry. Air lubrication is an independently verified technology that reduces fuel consumption and emissions during operation.

Since its first commercial deployment, the Silverstream® System has been fitted across a range of vessel segments, including cruise ships, container vessels, LNG carriers, RoRo and RoPax vessels, and PCTCs.

Noah Silberschmidt, founder and CEO of Silverstream, said reaching more than 160 vessels on the water was a significant achievement, and credited the company's customers, colleagues and partners. He added that shipowners are increasingly seeking solutions that hedge against rising fuel costs by cutting fuel use and emissions immediately, and that the growth of the installed fleet indicated air lubrication had become an established part of fleet strategies.

Silverstream and Grimaldi Group have deployed air lubrication technology across multiple vessel programmes as part of a long-term partnership. The GRANDE ORIENTE belongs to a generation of PCTCs equipped with the Silverstream® System.
