FerryJapan’s Seikan Ferry has taken delivery of the new HAYABUSA III from Hakodate Dock, which will replace the 2000-built HAYABUSA 3 on the Aomori-Hakodate route. HAYABUSA 3, meanwhile has been sold to Greece’s Saronic Ferries.
The new HAYABUSA III is 14m longer than the old HAYABUSA 3 and can take 300 passengers compared to 105.
Before taking service for Saronic Ferries, the old HAYABUSA 3 will have its passenger areas expanded in Perama.
The new HAYABUSA III had a sister delivered from the same yard in March last year, HAYABUSA II.
