Second-to-last Searunner arrived in Aliaga
Ro-roThe RoRo vessel STORNO, built in 1978, arrived off the scrapping yard in Aliaga, Turkey, in November last year. Back in April 2025, the ship had been sold by the Greek Ainaftis Shipping Company to the Marshall Islands–based company Novara Ventures Ltd., which reflagged the vessel under the Togolese flag and renamed it from PELAGITIS to STORNO.
STORNO was built at Hyundai Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries in South Korea for Stena RoRo as TOR FELICIA and was number seven out of a total of 11 so-called Searunner-class vessels. Following the scrapping of STORNO, only one Searunner vessel remains, CENK T, which is operated by the Turkish Cenk Group. On 12 December, CENK T was hit by a Russian missile while it was in the Ukrainian port city of Odesa. The vessel sustained minor damage.
