Wallenius Wilhelmsen rides the waves in Q3
Ro-roWith revenues for Q3 reaching USD 1,401 million, up by 7% over Q2 and EBITDA at USD 414 million, an increase of 19% over Q2, Wallenius Wilhelmsen are well on their way to another record year.
EBIT was USD 240 million, and profit amounted to USD 212 million, up by 53% over Q2 but down on the USD 280 million made in Q3 2025.
Volumes were down by 3% but the net freight rate per cbm was up by 5% to USD 64.4. The High & Heavy plus breakbulk share of volumes increased from 25 to 26%. Two Shaper class PCTCs have been delivered so far, with a 3rd vessel, the ELEGANT TERN, expected from the CMS Jinling Shipyard before the end of the year, also joining the EUKOR fleet.
Lasse Kristoffersen, CEO of Wallenius Wilhelmsen, stated that:
“We delivered a strong third quarter, with solid demand and performance across the business. With our shipping capacity fully committed for 2026, we are focused on delivering for our customers and building a strong position for 2027 and beyond. Recent significant contract awards underpin this work. Shaper Class deliveries and our newly expanded newbuilding program will strengthen our competitive position for the years ahead. We maintain our 2026 outlook of approximately USD 1.6 billion in adjusted EBITDA".
WW also announced that they have exercised their purchase option on the GRAND URANUS, previously on a long-term lease, renaming it the MORNING LUNA. In Q3, the 29-year-old ASIAN CAPTAIN was sold to an unrelated 3rd party which will take delivery of the vessel in Q4, resulting in a remarkable one-off gain of USD 40 million, reflecting the high prices being achieved for even old PCTC tonnage.
